The Floor & Décor Metairie LA project was a 71,438 square foot new big box retail store. The building’s foundation consisted of over 2,500 driven piles due to the finish floor elevation being 3.5 feet below sea level. The construction of the building was pre-cast panels and structural steel. This location was unique from other Floor & Décor stores as it has a mezzanine that houses the office package and public restrooms. Furthermore, the interior slab on grade was a structural slab placed on top of the driven piles. Lastly, due to the sea level elevation and the water table, the entire parking area was cast in place concrete in lieu of asphalt.
